Presentation by R&S: Digital Terrestrial and Mobile TV (DVB-T & DVB-H)

Taking advantage of the forthcoming introduction of digital television in our country as part of Cyprus’ European Union obligations, Netfon and Rohde & Schwarz have decided to launch their cooperation with a Rhode & Schwarz presentation on Digital Terrestrial and Mobile Television (DVB-T & DVB-H). Sound and TV broadcasting has been one of the key activities of Rohde & Schwarz for more than 50 years and the company is world leader in producing broadcasting as well as test & measurement equipment for the new transmission methods DAB, DVB, ATSC and MPEG2.

The presentation took place at a Nicosia hotel on 10th October 2006 and included a thorough review of the principles of DVB-T & DVB-H and analysis of the corresponding Rohde & Schwarz products (transmitters with reserve concepts and test and measurement equipment). Α discussion session followed and thereafter light lunch buffet was offered to all participants.

There was wide participation at the presentation, including representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Works – Department of Electronic Communications, the Ministry of Interior, the Radio and Television Authority, Cyta, Areeba and all public and private TV Stations with national coverage as well as some local ones.
